  • Abstract:  Our second-cheapest camera looks like a normal compact – albeit with a stylish, metal build. However, inside there’s a Super CCD ‘EXR’ sensor with innovative pixel layout, which works in three ways.

  • A host of innovative features not found outside the Fujifilm range, class-leading results in low light at highest ISO settings, attractive metal build and finish, fast and responsive, easy to use, great value
  • No HD video, which would have made this cute compact a world beater

  • This is a fantastic little camera for both day-to-day shooting, as well as more creative endeavours. Punches well above its weight in terms of low-light performance....

  • Electronic noise well handled up to 1600 ISO in EXR SN mode, Fast autofocus in most situations, Decent 27270 mm zoom, EXR DR mode works well to increase the dynamic range, Accurate colours
  • Lens doesn't admit much light, especially in telephoto mode, Limited battery life (under 250 photos), No HD video, Difficult to use, Still no automatic rotation of photos(!)

  • Good image quality Wide angle 10x optical zoom lens Rapid focus in low light Large high quality 2.7 inch screen. Fairly low noise in 10mp mode (but not as good as the F100) 5 megapixel EXR modes very good for dynamic range and lower noise Low noise com...
  • EXR HR mode is basically the same as the normal 10mp mode, why does it need an additional setting / mode? Some strange image artefacts around text - most likely due to the new sensor Flash photos tend to bump up the ISO to ISO800 unnecessarily (as doe...
  • The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR was a little unexpected, so soon after the F200EXR, it's thinner, yet has an impressive 10x optical zoom lens! As a compact camera it's impressive that so much can be packed into a camera the same size as most other cam...

  • Good size, build and handling; 'pro low light' mode enables excellent shots in dim lighting; useful 10x, 27-270mm zoom
  • Bad colour-fringing problem; the EXR sensor often imposes a resolution penalty
  • Even if you were just getting a 10x wideangle superzoom, the compact Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR would be good, but, with its EXR sensor technology, it potentially has the upper hand over many of its rivals. Its fatal flaw, though, is its susceptibility t...
