  • Works with Mac or Windows computers (comes formatted for Mac, but can be reformatted for Windows), - Has both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt interfaces, - Comes with both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt cables, - Lightweight and small - easy to carry in your bag, - Bus-powered, so doesn't require a power outlet
  • Doesn't seem to operate at true Thunderbolt speeds, - Can get hot during use

  • Speedy performance over both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt interfaces, Cables for both interfaces included in the box
  • Twice as expensive as many non-Thunderbolt USB 3.0 drives of same capacity
  • Buffalo's speedy MiniStation portable hard drive complements MacBooks nicely and includes both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 interfaces on the same drive, but it's not significantly faster using either interface versus the other. Unless you really need both co...

  • The bus-powered and affordable Buffalo MiniStation Thunderbolt HD-PATU3 drive offers fast performance via both Thunderbolt and USB and includes both a USB and a Thunderbolt cable
  • The Buffalo MiniStation comes with just one Thunderbolt port
  • Versatile, good-looking, and fast enough for most applications, the Buffalo MiniStation Thunderbolt HD-PATU3 makes an excellent buy for those looking for a portable Thunderbolt storage device.

  • Low price compared to other Thunderbolt drives, Reasonably fast, Great design, Time Machine compatibility
  • Standard hard drive limits speed, No second Thunderbolt port
  • Overall the Buffalo MiniStation Thunderbolt is a decent Thunderbolt drive that performs well, but doesn't do enough to justify the upgrade if you're a PC user, thanks to the bottleneck created by using a standard hard drive. However, it is still a lot ch...

  • Two high-speed interfaces on one device
  • Taller than usual. Incredibly expensive for little benefit
  • Buffalo's MiniStation Thunderbolt supports both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt, but the latter provides no advantage and adds considerable cost....
