  • Small, cheap, plenty of programs, easy to use
  • No CD-ROM, small keyboard, no real memory
  • Sod the kids, if you need to file remotely (bloggers and online journalists we mean you!) then this is a must have in the modern journalists armoury

  • The Asus Eee PC 701 is no power system. You wont want to do video editing, or even image editing, on the device, and its not going to serve as the multimedia centre for your home. However, the Eee PC provides a high level of functionality at a highl...

  • Abstract:  A genuine step forward for the laptop. Unbelievable capabilities for the price and ultra-low weight, too. Selling a £170 ultraportable laptop might be harder than it sounds. Misled by the low price, consumers could well believe decent quality for that...

  • Great value for money, Pleasing design, Good build quality, Three USB ports
  • Cramped keyboard, Limited storage capacity, No builtin optical drive
  • The Asus Eee PC 701 is a great notebook. Its extremely affordable, attractively designed and highly portable. If youre looking for an ultraportable travelling companion or a cheap second computer, there are few better options...

  • Great value; three USB ports; design
  • Cramped keyboard; lack of storage space; no optical drive
  • Theres no two ways about it -- the Asus Eee PC 701 is a great laptop. Its affordable, sexy and highly portable. If youre looking for a cheap second PC that can fit into a small bag, then there are few better options ...

  • At just £220, Asus Eee PC is a steal. The bundled GUI keeps things simple for novices, though we reckon most such users will prefer the familiarity of Windows, and we expect this machine to really take off when Asus offers a version with XP pre-instal...

  • Abstract:  The thing that annoys me about most notebooks is that theyre not actually that portable. "Luggable" is a better word to describe them. Notebooks are they way they are for a reason: they have to be usable as well. Truly small and portable computers usu...

  • Abstract:  Asus eee-PC features Clam-Shell design LCD hinges that are more durable than earlier hinge designs, making it suitable for rugged use. The LCD lid is also latch-less so there are fewer parts that can be broken easily. The latch-less lid can be open and...

  • Abstract:  You can call it a fad, but the latest craze is not about the latest quad core laptop with a 8800 series graphics accelerator, several hard drives in RAID, or a 20" screen and whatever. Ever since the announcement of the Asus Eee PC, and its official la...

  • Ultra-portable and ultra-light, attractive looks, good performance, near-perfect customized OS, good battery life, well-priced
  • Cramped keyboard, mediocre touchpad tap response, low usable storage space
  • The Asus Eee PC is available for a retail price of Rs 18,000, and thats well-priced for sure. That much cash will fetch you an upper-mid segment smartphone; the Eee PC can do a lot more. Its easier and more comfortable to type on its keyboard than o...
