  • Smooth operation, Excellent integration (for Apple devices)
  • Limited app options, Too closed for non-Apple users
  • The Apple TV is a gorgeous piece of kit, and for those who have bought into Apple's way everything is lovely. But we don't think that's enough anymore, especially when similar money buys more versatile options, such as the Roku 3. Loosen up, eh, Apple? See...

  • Apple TV is small. Incredibly small, and the whole thing can fit comfortably on the palm of your hand. It's smaller than the previous version, and will look gorgeous when sat next to your HDTV. With Apple TV, there's no need to worry about copying your movies and TV series to DVD. Instead, you'll be able to stream all your media content straight from your laptop or computer to your TV, without ha
  • The new Apple TV doesn't currently offer the ability to rent and download TV programmes. This wouldn't be quite so bad if the feature wasn't offered on the previous generation Apple TV, or across the pond where US users can download to their hearts content. Fingers crossed that Apple will fix this soon.
  • Apple TV is a great product if you have lots of media content on your laptop and want to watch it on the big screen. It's a shame functionality has been compromised over the older Apple TV, however, and there's little incentive for current users to upg...

  • Apple TV is an incredibly frustrating product. It shows Apple knows exactly how to make a class-leading media player, but its refusal to let it step outside the world of iTunes restrictions makes it a wholly superficial experience when compared to the ...

  • Best friends with your iPad, 1080p video, Plenty of streaming options
  • Not much full HD content on iTunes, Fiddles with audio sampling rate
  • Fine within the Apple eco-system and a great price, but we’d like it even more with iPlayer and 1080i/p support ...

  • Only the most hardcore of Apple fanatics will find the Apple TV to be a worthwhile purchase. This is a tragedy because Apple has demonstrated it knows exactly how to build a stunning, intuitive and (in the US at least) inexpensive media player that has th...

  • Responsive interface, Streaming works well
  • No online UK partner to match Netflix, Over-reliance on the Mac or PC, No 1080p HD
  • Apple TV has dumped its 40GB of storage, three-quarters of its footprint and halved its UK price. And yet Steve Jobs continues to refer to it as a "hobby". Perhaps it's because Apple TV remains somewhat of an enigma. It doesn't fit into Apple's main pr...
