  • Abstract:  April 10, 2007 - When Steve Jobs speaks, people listen. When Apple releases a new product, the internet explodes. Though Macintosh computers still havent carved out a bigger piece of the personal computing market, Apples iPod-iTunes megalith rules o...

  • Easy wireless network setup and synching, Local storage and A/V streaming, Near DVD-quality movie playback with HDTV upconverting, Spectacular digital photo slide shows
  • Works best with 802.11n router, No HD content, No photo thumbnails, Small, easy-to-lose remote
  • The Apple TV isnt the first media-streaming set-top box on the market, but its the first one from Apple, and is therefore the one to bring what was once an early-adopter technology to the masses. For those of you still catching up, the Apple TV wirel...

  • Excellent UI, Comparably priced (similar set top boxes cost $200$250 and dont have a HD inside), Essentially a small computer opens up all sorts of opportunities for the modding community
  • Limited hardware capabilities (limited HD playback), Seems to function best when synced to a computer, Not as smooth of an experience when streaming, No volume control from the Apple TV remote
  • For the first time in a while, I feel like Ive got an Apple product that didnt thrill me out of the box. Its a great way to get iTunes Store purchases from your computer to your TV. And it works well if youre OK treating the Apple TV like an iPod a...

  • Abstract:  If you e an iPod owner and you use iTunes for music and video and always wanted an easy way to move that content into your living room, Id say AppleTV is a great buy. For others, its probably a bit too costly to consider.

  • Abstract:  At $299 retail, the Apple TV represents a colossal rip-off. It over-promises and under-delivers. It is not a home theater PC extender in the manner of an Xbox 360 or even a Slingbox, both of which do more and cost less. It is, for lack of a better desc...

  • Abstract:  On Monday, March 28th, we happened to be in a Best Buy store. They had just received two Apple TV units. The guys behind the computer section counter were busily reading the box trying to figure out this new product. I splained it to them then bought ...
