  • The Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 retails for about $170 (Amazon Link, Newegg Link) at the time of this review. This is well in-line with other high-end enthusiast cases and represents a good price for what you get. The hot-swappable SSD bay at the top is pro...

  • Outstanding design, modularity, ease of installation, top-notch power supply
  • The handle on top could be just a little stronger for carrying the case, the PSU power cable connector could be standard

  • As we had an Antec Twelve Hundred to hand, we couldn't help but instigate a mini clash of the titans with the Dark Fleet DF-85 going head to head with our trusty old favourite. The two roof-mounted 140mm fans are clearly doing just as good a job as the 20...

  • Seven fans preinstalled, Two 2.5" HDD/SSD options, Nice appearance, Fairly priced, Support for nine 3.5" HDD's, One external and four internal HotSwap interfaces, Intake fans have individual filters, All fans have speed control as standard, well constructed, Full height side window, FleetRelease is good innovation, Good performance, Fully painted interior and exterior, USB 3.0 s
  • No support for quad GPU setup, No XL, ULTRA or EATX support, Space inside is wasted, Front fans are too loud at full speed, PSU mount is undesirable (unless you use CP series PSU)
  • In this section I am going to write a brief five point summary on the following categories; Performance, Appearance, Construction, Functionality and Value. These views are my own and help me to give the, Antec DF-85, a rating out of 10, a high score d...

  • Abstract:  You can't accuse Antec of only going halfway with its gaming cases. Sure, they sometimes look downright conservative compared to what you see from Thermaltake (the Level 10, anyone?) or Coolermaster, but Antec knows what serious system builders need an...

  • Lots of space, both horizontally (for extra-long video cards and optical drives) and vertical (for working at the extreme edges of motherboards). Provides options for hot-swapping up to five drives. Doors protecting drive bays are lockable. Intake fan filters are much easier to remove than before. Front panel includes USB 3.0 port.
  • Expensive. USB 3.0 port requires running an inconvenient cable through the system and out the back.
  • The highest-end case in Antec's new Dark Forces series, the DF-85 is loaded with features that will appeal to the hardest-core gamers and most enthusiastic enthusiasts. The case is a bit on the pricey side, but with so much room to work, support for h...
