  • Performance, ZeroCore Power, Option to juggle between performance and fan noise
  • Loud fan
  • AMD reached its goal with the high-powered Radeon R9 290X: to rival the other high-end graphics cards. Just remember, the GPU requires a good deal of power and needs to be cooled down in order to perform at its best, which in turn produces a lot of noise....

  • Abstract:  The 'next-generation' consoles are just about catching up to 1080p, but in the world of PC gaming, things have moved up a further few notches through the emergence of 4K panels touting a lush 3,840x2,160 resolution. Lovely as they are - and it's true, gam...

  • Amazing 4K gaming performance, Outclasses the Nvidia parts, very competitive pricing,

  • AMD's R9 290X is a powerhouse graphics card able to drive many of the latest Direct X 11 titles at the native UltraHD 4K resolution of 3840×2160, even with the eye candy at very high settings.Part 1 of our review last week highlighted that the R9 290X was...

  • Faster than GTX 780 and GTX Titan in most tests, Competitve price, 512, bit memory bus
  • Very noisy in Uber mode, Runs hot
  • This is all shaping up to be a pretty impressive win for the R9 290X then. It's quicker than a GTX 780 and when you push the overclock up a little – to be fair you will only get a little out of it – you'll get GTX Titan gaming performance for almost half...

  • Abstract:  Just yesterday, we found out that AMD's new champion graphics card, the $549 Radeon R9 290X, gave Nvidia's GeForce GTX Titan a very good run for its money. Heck, in some games it took the Titan's dinner money and gave it a cheeky slap into the financial b...

  • Class leading performance for a single GPU graphics card, New PowerTune enhancements pave the way for stress free performance boosts, CrossFire no longer needs a bridge/connector, Well priced relative to the competition
  • Slightly high (relative) power consumption,
  • AMD's R9 290X has really impressed me a lot. Our results show it performs consistently better than the GTX Titan in the vast majority of benchmarks and pretty much blows the GTX 780 out of the park (we tested using the “quiet mode” BIOS switch, not the “U...
