  • Fast apps and excellent screen quality,
  • Extremely heavy and still quite pricey.
  • Although the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is one of the weightiest tablets on the market - and comes with a heftier price tag than the iPad 2 - it has a powerful processor, fast performance, bright and clear screen and user-friendly app management. ...

  • Acer has produced a fine product with the Iconia Tab A500. Its performance closely matches that of the Motorola Xoom but it is lighter, offers more connectivity and has a working microSD slot to expand the storage capacity. There was no 3G support in...

  • Abstract:  Looking at the spec sheet, it's a good start for the A500. It has the ubiquitous Nvidia Tegra 2 processor inside and Honeycomb is proving itself a more than capable as an operating system. Acer also tells us that there'll be a free update to the latest ve...

  • 720p video playback, More rugged than most, Bright screen, Docking station, USB port
  • Shorter than average battery life, Short charger cable, Wide bezel, No video rentals, Some minor crashes
  • A very good tablet that beats the BlackBerry PlayBook in its performance but sits slightly behind the Motorola Xoom because of its less attractive design...

  • Solid design, Handy screenrotation toggle switch
  • Screen is very reflective, Acer's bundled apps are uninspiring, Has little to offer the business user

  • Fast and responsive, well built, runs Honeycomb
  • Heavy, expensive
  • The Acer Iconia Tab is an impressive piece of equipment. We don't like its heft, but as a functional tablet it's excellent. The problem for Acer is that there's nothing here that makes the Iconia stand out from the crowd....

  • There are better screens on the market, Rather bland design, Limited Honeycomb apps

  • Great screen and sound
  • The chunkiest slate yet
  • At more than fifty quid over the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, we can’t help but feel that the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is something of a raw deal. It’s far too heavy and lacks the killer keyboard integration. Of course Asus’ slate is selling out everywhere ri...

  • The screen isn't perfect but it's still very good and highly contrasted, Highquality build and finish, Smooth Android interface with nice additions from Acer, Plenty of connections and good sound output, Good for web browsing and games
  • Battery life is OK but could be better, Native multimedia compatibility, Camera is too red or too blue, Honeycomb needs to mature
  • Apart from the fact that Honeycomb is still finding its feet, the Acer Iconia A500 is a very good tablet indeed. It doesn't have the best battery life, but its design, hardware and extras compared with most of the competition make it a genuine alternative...
