Abstract: When Intel first launched its ultrabook branding last year it was met with a handful of different models from the major PC manufacturers. Windows 8 will see this trickle turn into a flood, as the number and diversity of ultrabook designs swells with featu...
Beautiful design. Monitor increases resistance as you open it farther, minimising screen wobble from touching. Full HD IPS screen. Dual SSDs in RAID 0 bring plenty of speed
Expensive. Battery life could be better. Backlit keyboard makes the keys harder to read in half-light. Can get loud under load
The 13.3-inch version of Acer's Aspire S7 laptop is gorgeous. There are a few minor niggles, it's expensive and battery life isn't the best, but despite all this, this is one of the better Windows 8 solutions out there at this point in time....
Aluminium chassis is solid and comfy on the palms; Beautiful IPS touchscreen; Despite being shallow, the keyboard is comfortable to use; Speedy and responsive;
No obvious Caps Lock indicator; Cover glass gets grubby quickly; Backlighting isn't very bright; While the touchscreen gestures are excellent, the trackpad ones are not; Battery life could be better;

Excellent screen, Lovely design, Strongly built, Very fast SSD
Shallow keys, Touchpad could be a little better, Battery life a little short

Excellent IPS display, 10point multitouch, Fast 2D performance, Beautiful design
Bothersome fan noise, Lacklustre battery, Fair share of bloatware
We didn't think it would be Acer who would set a new standard for Ultrabook design, but credit where it's due, the Aspire S7 is one of the most stunning laptops we've seen in recent years. Dual-torque hinges, an impossibly-thin body and a Gorilla Glass t...
There's room for improvement in battery life, but the slim, light design of the S7 is hard to beat if you're looking for a really portable laptop that has enough power to handle some serious work when you're away from the mains.Tags:Business,Laptops,Windo...
The Acer Aspire S7 is a great device, it really showcases what Windows 8 is really about. Therein lies the problem, with a totally touch optimised interface you'd absolutely love the S7, for me the split personality of Windows 8 detracts from the glorious...
