  • Abstract:  The Seagate FreeAgent 500 GB hard drive not only gives you a ton of extra space to backup anything on your computer, (assuming your computer's hard drive is less than 500 GB of course) but also looks nice sitting on your desk. There are a bunch of little ...

  • Abstract:  Everybody needs a lot more digital storage these days, even your grandma. Most people have tons of music, videos, photos, and documents all in digital format. An average person's digital collection of media would easily fill several rooms if they w...

  • The Seagate FreeAgent Go 640GB and 1TB external USB 2.0 drives proved to be the quietest such devices we've had the pleasure of using. Their acoustics are so good that even the most demanding no-noise proponents should have no complaints. The decent p...

  • Attractive, Reasonably priced, Buspowered convenience, Included software is useful and/or amusing
  • Buspowered convenience means buspowered speeds (5400rpm drives)
  • Seagate has a real winner. The drive is attractive, functional, light-weight, and comparably priced. The line of Seagate Go drives offers a wide variety of colors, drive sizes, and accessories (docks, cases) to fit a wide range of needs. The whole seri...

  • The drive's performance was, in most respects, in line with current expectations for this class of USB 2.0 drives. If you value speed above all else, there are ways to get more of it (and with more consistency) in this form factor, though at a higher ...

  • We have done a lot of work in the past with manufacturers of external hard drives. The bundled software is usually pretty decent but I have to say that for a film maker the Seagate FreeAgent Go 500GB External Hard Drive and Muvee Bundle takes the cake....

  • The Seagate FreeAgent Go distinguishes itself with its sleek looks, unconventional disk activity LED, wide choice of colours, and an optional docking station (Go Dock). Pricing is in line with the segment, and wide availability helps too....

  • The FreeAgent Go is a great USB 2.0 drive, Solid performance, Attractively styled, Competitively priced, Price is basically the same with or without the movie
  • Unlocking movie hopefully goes better for everyone else, Web portal to access movies is compatible only with Internet Explorer 7+, Movies only play in Windows Media Player 10+ or on FreeAgent Theater+, Not high definition: Movie has resolution of just 720x300
  • The Seagate FreeAgent Go series of drives have been available for quite some time now, and despite some cosmetic changes and increases in storage capacities, they have remained about the same. While change is generally considered to be a good thing, wh...

  • All eight portable drives we tested work well if you mainly need a device to store large amounts of user data that doesn't depend much on performance. As soon as you apply more demanding workloads, it's time to start paying more attention to the way yo...

  • Similar to the Model T you can have any color of the 1Tb Free Agent Go as long as its black. Outside of that issue (can you really call that an issue?) I couldn't find a problem with Seagate's largest portable hard drive. The idea of being able to...
