  • Quick shutter, Impressive display resolution, Simultaneous RAW and JPEG capture, Intuitive physical and digital UI
  • Battery life, Some might be scared off by its size – a little too big for the average pocket, Digital noise above ISO 1,600, Price – paying more over $300 for a point-and-shoot can be a hard sell
  • There’s no denying the Fujifilm FinePix F550 EXR is a remarkable device and packs a punch in its small package. ...

  • Low image noise in EXRSN mode, Superb dynamicrange in EXRDR mode, Virtually distortion free, No noticeable vignetting, Excellent resistance to chromatic aberrations, Excellent automatic whitebalance, Good color accuracy, Reliable exposure, Superb stabiliz
  • Above average image noise at 16 MP, Strong blurring starting at ISO 1600 at 16 MP, Strong corner softness near wideangle, Complex interaction of features, strange limits, Userinterface rather twisted, LCD does not keep up during continuous drive, No physi
  • The EXR technology lets the F550 EXR capture images in one of three mode:While some may be disappointed that the increase to 16 megapixels has increased image, which is not so destructive until ISO 800, the Fuji Finepix F550 EXR remains a really good came...

  • Abstract:  Fujifilm's FinePix F550 EXR steps into the competitive 'travellers' zoom' sector of the digicam market, providing a few advantages over its main rivals. For photo enthusiasts, its most critical benefits are P, A, S and M shooting modes plus support for...

  • Abstract:  Measuring 103.5 x 62.5 x 32.6 mm and weighing around 215 grams with battery and memory card installed, it's small enough to slip into a jacket pocket and won't weigh you down on a long walk. It's also relatively inconspicuous, which is a big advantage whe...

  • Sturdy, well-built feel, Shoots RAW, Good image stabilisation, particularly at the telephoto end, GPS updates reasonably quickly,
  • Sluggish RAW processing time, start-up time, Some images can look over-processed, Evening and low-light images are quite poor,
  • While the F550EXR offers a range of excellent features for travelling photographers and a great GPS module, it is let down by average images....

  • The fujifilm FinePix F550EXR is a well-constructed, feature-packed and fun camera to use. The ability to shoot raw is a plus, but the cameras image quality is on a par with the best in its class rather than being a leader...

  • Long, 15x optical zoom; built-in GPS; 1080p video recording; raw support
  • Annoying pop-up flash; fiddly buttons; some issues with picture noise at higher sensitivity settings
  • A list of features as long as your arm and an equally lengthy optical zoom all work in the Fujifilm FinePix F550EXR's favour. But this superzoom has a number of flaws that prevent it from achieving greatness....

  • Abstract:  The manual mode lets you tweak the shooting settings to your own preferences. Of course there's an auto mode which uses the F550's robotic brain to work them all out, but experienced shutter nutters who feel they can do better will appreciate having the o...

  • Big zoom from small body, RAW shooting, EXR mode on main dial, GPS
  • No single-point AF adjustment, image quality may be a letdown at full resolution
  • The Fujifilm FinePix F550EXR crams a lot into a small body: if you’re after a wide-angle, 15x optical zoom lens that can fit in your pocket then the Fuji won’t let you down. Image quality could be improved, but the EXR mode goes some way to the rescue....
