  • Abstract:  At $4,999, the Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS500 4K Pro-UHD Laser Projection TV looks like a poor bargain versus the BenQ V7050i ($3,499) or the Optoma CinemaX P2 ($5,799 list, but $3,299 at most retailers). But Epson's home projector isn't as overpriced as it...

  • Exceptional image brightness, Good out-of-box color for SDR and HDR, Outstanding 3D, Large, sharp lens with uniform focus, Comes with UST ALR screen
  • Requires outboard audio system, Longer throw ratio requires further placement from wall than most 4K USTs, Cumbersome access to key image adjustments, No eye protection mode for the laser
  • Despite its otherwise solid execution, Epson's first 4K laser UST home theater projector comes with a few caveats. The lack of a suitable integrated sound system adds to the cost of an already pricey projector/screen combo. The included streaming stick wa...

  • 4000 claimed Lumens (brightest recently reviewed), 1800 calibrated lumens in best mode, Long Life laser light engine (20,000 hours), Laser engines slowly lose brightness over years, not months like lamps, Includes 100″ or 120″ diagonal ALR – Ambient li
  • While it might be the brightest in its class, could be brighter still, for folks with ridiculously bright rooms like mine, measured well below claim (measuring UST projectors is always a challenge), Lacks CFI – for smooth motion, Not critical, but CFI i
  • I believe the Epson's value proposition is really very good. It easily earns the Hot Product Award it received from us. BTW, Epson pretty much has the best long term reputation for support and for reliability, going back to the beginning of the modern p...

  • Abstract:  Remember the rear-projection TV (RPTV)? RPTVs were big, boxy contraptions housing a projector that beamed an image at the rear of a screen mounted on the set's front surface. While necessarily inelegant compared with the sleek flat-panel TVs that eventual...

  • Abstract:  Epson today officially released its EpiqVision Ultra LS500 4K PRO-UHD Laser Projection TV. First shown one year ago at CEDIA 2019, the LS500 becomes the first in a new EpiqVision-branded family of offerings intended to expand projection's reach beyond dar...

  • Extremely bright, colourful pictures, Laser light means a long lifespan with minimal picture quality reduction along the way, Convenient 'sideboard' design,
  • Black levels are limited, Colours lose subtlety in dark areas, Can be a touch noisy in bright settings,
  • The ‘4K' images don't look unnatural or processed, either, and their clarity isn't badly impacted by motion issues. A a motion processing system is provided, but you don't need it.Related: Best Outdoor ProjectorRather scary lens-side view of the Epson LS5...

  • Abstract:  TVs, desktop monitors, and even laptops have embraced more pixels at lower prices, but high-resolution home theater and office projectors have lagged in affordability. So while 4K resolution (3,840 by 2,160 pixels) has long since taken over as the standar...

  • Pros, Laser-phosphor light source rated at 4,000 ANSI lumens, Epson's Pro-UHD matches the ability to resolve detail of true 4K resolution, Price includes 100-inch ambient light rejection (ALR) screen, Three-chip LCD design means no rainbow artifacts, Andr
